UPDATED BREAKING NEWS: Last night's standoff of ends peacefully

New Haven Police responded for a report of a possible assault in the 9400 block of highway 100.  Once officers arrived the subject fled on foot into his apartment.  One of the officers then heard a shotgun being racked behind the door to the apartment.

High speed chase on I-44 -- Suspect able to get away

Last week on Sat. Oct. 15 Franklin County Deputy observed a vehicle that was believed to be occupied by a wanted suspect at the 255 mile marker of I-44. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle however, the driver sped off.  The Deputy began pursuit several miles and crossing into to Crawford County and then back in to Franklin County until the deputy lost sight of the suspect.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol urges everyone to be safety-minded on Halloween. Halloween can be fun for everyone.

MOTORISTS: Motorists are reminded to pay attention for trick-or-treaters of all ages. Young children excited by Halloween could dart in front of a vehicle. Slow down, and drive with extra caution. If you are headed to a costume party, make sure the costume doesn’t hamper your vision while you’re driving to the event! Motorists picking up and dropping off trick-or-treaters may increase the number of vehicles on the road,
