New Haven School District will say thank you to our veterans November 11

The New Haven School District is proud to honor those that have served our nation in the armed forces.

On Friday, November 11, 2011 at 7am a breakfast will be served in the New Haven High School Cafeteria in honor of Veterans Day.  The school will be serving breakfast from 7am-8am for veterans and a guest.  Following the breakfast the New Haven Elementary School will host a Veterans Day Assembly.  The assembly will begin at 8:30 am and will include a guest speaker, a presentation by the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and music by the Elementary School Choir.

– Although flooding along the Missouri River has faded from national headlines, it will still be months before water levels return to normal, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Mercy to Host Cancer Support and Awareness Fair at St. Francis Borgia Parish

Washington, Mo. – Everyone knows someone who has been touched by cancer, which is why Mercy Hospital Washington is collaborating with St. Francis Borgia Parish to present a Cancer Support and Awareness Fair for the community from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 20, at St. Francis Borgia Jesuit Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Steve Jobs, a man who revolutionized the way we communicate today has died.

National news services are reporting that Steven P. Jobs, co-founder of Apple Computers, has died.  He was 56.

Jobs was battling cancer when he resigned the helm of Apple in August.  At the time of his death, his Apple Computing fortune is put at $8.3 billion.

Jobs was married, with 4 children.
