Deer vs Car... Deer Wins -- What to do if you see a deer on the highway

New Haven, Mo. -- At approximately at 5:45 p.m. this evening, a vehicle was traveling west bound on Highway 100 when a deer crossing the highway attempted to jump over the car, causing the car to hit the deer.

The accident occurred 4 miles west of New Haven and approximately one -half mile east of Grant Lane and highway 100.

Franklin County United Way exceed their goal -- Raised $876,127

In one of the most difficult and challenging campaigns in United Way history, Executive Director, Paula Obermark, and the United Way Board of Directors are pleased to announce the successful completion of the United Way drive with donations and pledges totaling  $890,513. The goal of $886,625 was slightly exceeded.  This represents an increase of 1.64% over last year’s campaign attainment of $876,127.

40-unit apparment complex "1,000% guaranteed” this project is not HUD -- Water and Sewer rate increase

On Monday, the Board of Aldermen held their monthly meeting.  The board approved a rate increase on water and sewer usage.  The rate increase will go into affect on the January billing cycle.

Additional information was provided in regard to the development of a 40-unit complex on the property at Stonehurst Village.  A representative from the developer said, “1,000% guarantee” this project is not another HUD.

New Haven School Board approves contract with KRJ for long-range facility plan at tonight's meeting

The New Haven School District is pleased to announce that at tonight's board meeting, the contract was approved for the architectural firm of Kromm, Rikimaru, and Johansen, Inc. (KRJ), to provide long-range facility planning services for the district.

The agreement with KRJ is to assemble a long-range facility plan to guide the development of school facilities over the next 10-20 years.
