Railroad Blues

New Haven IS the railroad.  It is unique in that all of downtown is on the north side of the tracks, unlike other communities in this area.  Not having that railroad’s song  would be like having a marching band without drums... a Greek salad without feta cheese... a Shamrock basketball game without green t-shirts.

Vehicle accident Hwy 47 north of Washington, Mo.

At approximantly 9:10 a.m. Warren County EMS and Fire and Washington Fire assisting responded to a report of a vehicle accident on Hwy 47 north of the Missouri River near the Washington Airport. 

QNHN's Brian Stalcup is reporting that two vehicles were involved and at this time it is unknown if there were any injuries.

QNHN will attempt to get a statement and continue reporting news when it happens.

New Haven/Berger Fire provides state certified class - Big win for citizens

Ten Volunteer Firefighters for the New Haven/Berger Fire Department completed a Firefighter 1 class last night at station 1 in New Haven.  Firefighter 1 is a state certified class that consists of 320 hours of classroom time and hands on training.

BREAKING NEWS: UPDATE 1 - House fire down graded - New Haven/Berger Fire responding to 1st Alarm structure fire

Approximately 5:05 p.m.:  New Haven/Berger and mutual aid fire departments were dispatched to the 3900 block on Lakeshore Drive in Whispering Valley for a reported house fire.  Initial reports indicated heavy smoke coming from the roof.

A reporter is on the way to the scene.

5:54 p.m.:  The house fire has been down graded to a dryer that is on fire.  Fire crews are on the scene and currently working to extinguish the dryer fire.

New Haven Youth Fair to feature X-Caliber Pulling

The farm and open farm tractor and truck pull sign-up and weigh in lower arena is from 10 to 2 p.m with the pull beginning at 2 p.m.; X-Caliber Pulling begins at 7 p.m. Admission to the lower area arena tractor/truck pull will be $12.00 for adults and $6 for children ages 6 – 12.

3 on 3 basketball tournament Saturday - Fair Board asking for volunteers to help

The New Haven Community Youth Fair Committe is looking for anyone who would like to volunteer for the 3 on 3 baskeball tournament.  Volunteers are needed to officiate games and help keep score.

2nd Annual Backyard Barbecue this Saturday - Come get your cook on

The second annual Backyard Barbecue Competition of the New Haven Community Youth Fair will begin on Saturday, July 16th. The event will be sponsored this year by Missouri Eagle, Ozark National Life, and Wal-mart. Entry fee is $10 for any and all divisions. Registration for the Barbecue Competition will be held from 8 to 9 a.m.

There will be three divisions in the competition:
Division 1 entries will include Pork Steaks.
Division 2 will include Pork Ribs.
Division 2 will include hot wings bragging rights.

New Haven Community Youth Fair quickly approaching

Several fun and exciting events will take place the first night of the fair this Friday.

First the poultry, rabbit, goat, and sheep show will begin at 3p.m. The bucket calf show will begin at 6:30 followed by the swine show. All will take place in the livestock area of the fair.
