Great news for back-to-school shoppers – Sales tax holiday this weekend

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- It may look a lot like Christmas in your local department or clothing store this weekend, even with temperatures pushing 100 degrees.

Citizens Bank is helping our local schools by holding a School Supply Drive

In an effort to support our local schools Citizens Bank will be holding a “School Supply Drive” throughout the month of August.

Keep your cars locked - Police have seen rise in car theft crimes

The New Haven Police Department would like to remind citizens to keep your car doors locked.

New Haven Police arrest subject last night stealing from unlocked car - Subject had outstanding warrant in Gasconade County

Officer Eric Visocan observed two males walking away from a car while on patrol at 2 a.m. this morning at the intersection of Locust Street and Morgan Street.  Visocan noticed the dome light was on in the same car.  He proceeded to stop the two men, who were carrying an empty backpack and a pair of pliers.

UPDATE: Both girls found unharmed - State of Missouri Endangered Person Advisory


Fri., July 29, 2011 - The MSHP announced Friday that the Barry County Sheriff's Office has cancelled the Endangered Person Advisory for the two girls pictured above.

Barry County Sheriffs Office said the children were located unharmed in Parks County Wyoming.  The suspect is in custody.

Army Corps of Engineers says flood is not over

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Despite the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers cutting back the level of releases from its upstream reservoirs, a spokesman said the Missouri River flood of 2011 is not over yet.

Class Registration began Monday

Time flies when you are having a good time.

Registration for the 2011-2012 school year at New Haven High School will begin on Monday., Aug 1, 2011.  Registration times will be 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1p.m. to 3 p.m.
