New Haven man arrested today for manufacturing of meth

St. Clair, Mo -- Earlier today, a Franklin County Deputy was serving a civil paper to a residence on Nappier Road, located four miles south of St. Clair off of Highway K, when he noticed a white male sitting inside a vehicle in the driveway.  The deputy also noticed a chemical smell associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Washington, Mo. -- Three babies were born at Mercy on November 11       (11-11-11) , giving them a birthday to remember.Mercy staff members were lucky enough to pose with them in their first hours of life.

19 year-old Missourian detained by Egyptian authorities

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- A Georgetown University student from Jefferson City, is one of three college students detained by Egyptian authorities, charged with throwing firebombs at a protest in Tahrir Square.

19-year-old Derrick Sweeney, a 2009 graduate of Jefferson City High School, is shown with two other American college students on state TV, holding what appear to be plastic bottles filled with liquid with fuses taped to the tops.

OBITUARY: Washington: John "Buxie" Terschluse (February 20, 1927 - November 19, 2011)

Memorial services for John “Buxie” Terschluse, 84, of Washington, Missouri will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. from Miller Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Terschluse, nee Czeschin, one son, Jeffrey and wife Jill Terschluse of New Haven, Missouri, one daughter, Janalee and husband James Hurst of Linn Creek, Missouri and three grandchildren, Jacob and Justin Terschluse and James “Buck” Hurst.

Missouri State High Patrol prepares for Thanksgiving Travel

Missouri State Highway Patrol announces that Troop C officers will conduct two enforcement projects throughout the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

These projects are intended to promote safety and to reduce the number of crashes in the Troop C area. Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) will be conducted on Interstates 270, 70, 64, 55, 44, and U.S. Highway 61. On Wednesday, November 23, 2011, and Sunday, November 27, 2011, Troop C has scheduled a 20-mile Trooper Enforcement Operation on Interstates 70 and 44, as well as some secondary roadways.

Girls on the Run end the season with good food and great dessert.

Missouri Democrats choose new leaders

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo
. -- Missouri Democrats chose new leadership over the weekend.

Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders was named chairman of the state Democratic Party on Saturday. St. Louis Comptroller Darlene Green was named vice chair of the party.

The leadership change comes in the wake of former State Auditor Susan Montee’s candidacy for Lieutenant Governor. Montee had served as party chairman since shortly after her defeat by Republican Tom Schweich in the 2010 election.

Gov. Nixon helps break ground for new John Deere facility

STRAFFORD, Mo. - Gov. Jay Nixon was in Strafford today with officials from John Deere Reman to officially break ground for the company's new processing and storage facility in Strafford. The new 275,000 square-foot facility, which will serve John Deere dealers throughout the U.S., represents a capital investment of $14 million into the local economy, and the company plans to create 55 new local jobs over the next five years in Strafford.

Mon., Nov 21 - We received additional information last night from Pam Ruediger, Stylest at Hair, who received a phone call from SPN requesting $379 dollars. The caller said that the amount would purchase 100 balls.  SPN is obviously targeting businesses in New Haven.

23 year-old found dead yesterday morning

Gerald, Mo. -- Yesterday morning at approximately 4:20 a.m. deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department responded in reference to a death investigation in the 9000 block of Droste Road, located 4 miles south of Gerald, Mo. off of highway H.

According to the victim’s father, he and his son had been at a deer camp where several people had been drinking.
