Lady Rocks snap two game skid - Knock off Montgomery 23-44

Montgomery, Mo. – The Lady Shamrocks cruised to a 21 point win on Tues. at Montgomery County High School, ending a two game losing streak.  Kayla Oetterer led all scores with 12 points, Rachel Steinhoff added 10 points, and Emily Kallmeyer was perfect from the stripe (5-5), scoring nine points on the night.

New Haven entered Tues. night’s game, after a tough loss at Owensville on Fri. (47-42) where they gave up 21 offensive rebounds.

New Haven School District receives Distinction in Performance Award sixth straight year

During last week’s monthly board meeting Kyle Kruse, Superintendent, announced the New Haven School District has been awarded Distinction in Performance for the sixth consecutive year.

This award is given out annually to school districts that receive a “met” on at least 13 of the 14 criteria set fourth by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Examples of criteria include; the school district’s graduation and attendance rates, MAP testing scores, and College Placement.

Five File for East Central College Board of Trustees.

Five candidates have filed for the three open seats on the East Central College board of trustees.

Prudence Fink Johnson of Union, current board vice president, has re-filed for another six-year term on the board.  Fink Johnson represents Sub-district Two, which includes the school districts of Lonedell R-14, St. Clair R-13, and Union R-11 excluding the Lyon and Boone Township portion of Union R-11 and that portion located in the Beaufort-Union precinct.  She is completing her third term on the ECC governing board.

OBITUARY: Catherine Ann Berliner Oct. 2, 1979 - Dec. 20, 2011

Catherine Ann Berliner, 32, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away on Tues., Dec. 20, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Mo.

Mrs. Berliner was born in Washington, Mo. on Oct. 2, 1979, the daughter of Terry and Valerie (Vollmer) Marquart.

Mrs. Berliner was the wife of Randy Berliner. They were married on Feb., 14, 2009 at Riverbend Chapel in Washington, Mo.  He survives in Hermann.

JV girls go to overtime - Correction on Varsity boys result - Warrenton wins in stunning upset.

Montgomery City, Mo. - (Scores and information provided by Kent Vedder) The JV girls fell short in a thrilling overtime game, 20-19.

After one quarter of play New Haven lead 0-2 and went into half time with a five point lead. (7-12)  The Rocks went scoreless in the third, clinging to a two point lead, 10-12.

New Haven, Mo - This evening during the five o’clock hour at the intersection of highway 100 and Olive Road the Missouri State Highway patrol responded for a report of a non-injury accident.

The exact details of the accident are unknown other than that one vehicle re-ended another.
