New Haven Preservation Society - Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

New Haven, Mo. - Santa will be at the Walt Theatre on Sat., Dec. 10, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.  The doors will open at 12:30 p.m.

The New Haven Preservation Society is sponsoring cartoons and a visit with Santa for the annual Santa at the Walt event. This annual event is held for children each year and continues a fun tradition in New Haven from years ago.

Bank of Franklin County is helping Santa Claus this year.

Employees at Bank of Franklin County are lending a hand to Santa Claus.

Millions of children send Santa a list of what they want for Christmas and sometimes Santa needs a little bit of help reading them all.

This year Bank of Franklin County is giving Santa a little extra help by asking kids to mail their letters to them or drop their letters off at the bank.

Hunters check 14,000 deer during antlerless season

JEFFERSON CITY – Jim Low - Hunters checked 14,439 deer during Missouri’s antlerless deer season Nov. 23 through Dec. 4.

Flags at state and local government buildings to be flown at half-staff today, Dec. 7, for Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

- The U.S. and Missouri flags on all state and local government buildings in Missouri will be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, Dec. 7 to commemorate those who died or were wounded during the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on Dec. 7, 1941. A 1996 state law designates the date as Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and directs that on that day, flags be flown at half-staff by all state agencies and political subdivisions of the state.

Thursday Night's Girls Basketball Game Cancelled

The Lady Shamrocks were scheduled to play South Callawy at home Thur., Dec. 8.

Due to a conflict in South Callaway's schedule Thursday's game will be rescheduled at a later date.

Protect your purse while you're at church - Female snatches purses from Lighthouse Baptist Church

Villa Ridge, Mo – Sunday deputies with Franklin County responded to the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Villa Ridge located on highway M for a report of a female having her purse stolen.

Establishment of a police substation at the East Central College campus in Union could occur in early 2012

Union Mo. - ECC trustees authorized college administrators to enter into an agreement with the City of Union to establish a Union Police Department substation in a vacant building on campus.  That action came at the board’s December 5 meeting.

The proposal now goes to the Union Board of Aldermen for their consideration at a meeting December 12.

Lady Shamrocks Defeat Washington in Double Overtime 44-37

New Haven, Mo. – The Lady Rocks home opener took 40 minutes of play and two overtimes to decide last night’s thriller against the Washington Blue Jays.

OBITUARY: New Haven: Terrance Patrick Moynahan (February 19, 1929 - December 4, 2011)

Terrance Patrick Moynahan, 82, of New Haven, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Moynahan was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 19, 1929, the son of the late James Moynahan and Ollie Knight.

He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was the warehouse manager for R & F Spaghetti Company.  He enjoyed collecting coins & loved to read.

No Call List Means Don't Call - Koster Slams Florida Telemarketer

– There will be one less annoying telemarker calling Missourians after recent action by the state attorney general.

Attorney General Chris Koster on Monday announced that his office has obtained a temporary restraining order against a Florida telemarketing company for making solicitations to Missourian’s on the state’s “no-call” list.

"Right-to-work" fight to resume in Jefferson City

, Mo. – As the 2012 state legislative session begins to take shape, a familiar labor fight is heading to the floor of the Senate.

Once again, State Senate Leader Robert Mayer, R-Dexter, has introduced a bill that would keep Missouri workers from being forced to join a union against their will. Mayer recently pre-filed a bill to be brought up during the next legislative session, which begins in January.

1:10 P.M. Emergency Alert Siren Information

1:10 p.m. - We just spoke with city hall officials regarding the Emergency Alert Siren that just sounded.  There is no emergency or warning of any kind.

They were simply conducting a monthly test to insure everything is working properly.

Chosen for our senior of the week is Brandy Senecal.

Senecal is active in a variety of after school activities that include:  NHS, STUCO, FBLA, and FCA. She is also member of the girl’s softball team, basketball team, and track team.

Fourth Annual Celebration of Christmas at East Central College

Union Mo. - To kick off the holiday season, the East Central College Music and Theatre Departments will present “An Old Fashioned Christmas,” the fourth annual celebration of the holidays. Christmas carols and stories and will be featured, along with a sing-a-long and refreshments.

The event is being made possible with the financial support of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Hebbeler and Mr. and Mrs. John R. Thompson.
