Fatima holds of Shamrocks from upset

Rachel Steinhoff wins battle at the net giving New Haven a 20-16 lead in the first set.

New Haven, Mo. – Monday night the Lady Shamrocks gave the Fatima Lady Comets (21-3) a run for their money.  With the addition of sophomore Katie Peirick and running a new offense New Haven seemed reenergized and a completely different team than last Thursday in the Hermann Tournament.

Grater and Chavez run career best – Shamrocks bring home nine medals

Zach Grater crosses the finish line breaking 18 minutes for the first time.

Hermann, Mo. – The Shamrock’s high school and middle school cross-country teams rocked the Hermann Invitational on Tuesday as Zach Grater broke the 18 minute mark, running a career best of 17:51, finishing in 4th place.  Fey Chavez posted her career best of 22:23 giving her a 10th place finish.

BREAKING NEWS: Argument leads to 18-year-old shooting a 17-year-old near St. Clair Mo.

St. Clair, Mo. – Earlier this afternoon (Wednesday) around 1:38 p.m., Franklin County Deputies responded to what initially was reported as a peace disturbance.

They responded to the 2000 block of Barton Road located seven miles south of St. Clair off of Highway 47.

Mrs. Ella C. Birkmann, 92, of New Haven, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at New Haven Care Center.

Mrs. Birkmann was born in Berger, Missouri on March 9, 1920, the daughter of the late Herman and Louise (Meyer) Scheible.

Education group sues Mizzou

An education advocacy group is suing Mizzou.

The National Council on Teacher Quality filed the complaint in Cole County Court this week. The group says The University of Missouri refuses to turn over records related to teacher training programs on all four campuses.

The first of three Presidential debates between Republican Party nominee Governor Mitt Romney and Democratic Party nominee President Barack Obama will be held this evening at the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado.  The Public Broadcasting Service’s (PBS) Jim Lehrer, Executive Editor of the news program “NewsHour” will host and moderate the debate for the 12th time.

Murphy leads nation in punt return TDS

Sophomore scatback Marcus Murphy has established himself as one of the most dangerous punt returners in the nation, and it’s been a welcome sign for the DeSoto, Texas native, after he missed the entire 2011 season due to a shoulder injury. On Monday, Murphy was named the SEC co-special teams player of the week.
