When you retire, you may well have accomplished some important financial goals, such as sending your children through college and paying off your mortgage. Yet, you can’t relax just yet, because your retirement could easily last two or three decades, which means you’ll need at least two or three decades’ worth of income — which, in turn, means you’ll need the proper savings and investment strategies in place.  And, just as importantly, you’ll also need to be aware of the types of risk that could threaten these strategies.

Byram wins second straight Air Rifle State Championship

Gerald, Mo. - Brittany Byram of Gerald, Mo., a student at Owensville Middle School, is a member of the New Haven 4-H Club who recently competed at Prairie Grove Shooting Range in the Missouri 4-H State Air Rifle competition.  Byram came in as the defending champion with a target on her back and everyone waiting to knock her off.

It's no suprise that farmers were not going to have a good harvest but the summer drought was much worse than already had thought. 

Missouri farmers are finishing up their harvests…and things aren’t looking much brighter despite the presence of more normal weather conditions.

- Nelson Tree Services of St. Louis, Mo sent workers to assist in storm ravaged New York after "Super Storm Sandy" took its toll. Nole Winistoerfer of Leslie, Mo. left with the company on Oct. 31, and tells us that at this point, they are unsure of when they will be released to come home.

Missouri leaders salute military on Veterans Day

Missouri leaders saluted the state’s military veterans on this Veterans Day, as thousands of other Missourians remain deployed in conflicts abroad.

According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, more than 514,000 veterans reside in Missouri.

Air Force Staff Sgt. Travis Sanford, Jefferson City, is one of those. He was honored by the U.S. Airfoice this year as one of 20 airmen to receive a “Portraits in Courage” recognition commending his service in Afghanistan.
