Male suspect flees deputies - Drives off cliff into Meramec River

St. Clair, Mo. - Saturday, Franklin County Deputies responded to the area of Friendship Park near Highway PP and Plum Ford Road approximately 16 miles east of St. Clair for a report of a suspicious vehicle.

When deputies arrived three suspects fled the scene, two of them on foot and one in a vehicle.

R-2 knocks off New Haven to win consolation in 6th grade tournament

Franklin County R-2 faced off rival New Haven in yesterday afternoon’s sixth grade consolation game in New Haven’s 5th and 6th grade boys tournament.

Washington, Mo. – Saturday was the first round of Borgia’s annual JV Boys Basketball Tournament.  The Shamrocks came in as the number five seed to face Washington who was seeded fourth.

Corps of Engineers release 2012 Missouri River plan

-- The U.S Army Corps of Engineers says it plans to do a better job of communication during the upcoming year, but it’s not planning on any more storage space for increased snow melt and rain than it had last year.

The corps on Friday released its operating plan for the coming year. The report says the corps will maintain an “aggressive” schedule of water releases through the spring and summer months should it be faced with similar conditions to last yea.

UPDATE: White SUV plows into the Los Cabos Restaurant

10:45 p.m. - Washington, Mo – At approx 6:30 p.m. this evening a white SUV plowed into Los Cabos Mexican Restaurant located off Highway 100 on High Street, near Straatmann Toyota.

NEW HAVEN: Obituary: Harold Kuhn ( Dec. 21, 1943 - Jan. 5, 2012)

Harold Kuhn, 89, of New Haven, Missouri, passed away on Thur., Jan. 5, 2012 at New Haven Care Center.

Mr. Kuhn was born in New Haven, Mo. on March 27, 1922, the son of the late Paul and Edna (Heidmann) Kuhn.

What's with the weather?

Tempature at 9 a.m. this morning.

I am not complaining about the bizarre temperatures for this time of year, but are we going to pay for it later?

Last night, as I was getting home from Cuba, the bank sign showed a temperature of 52 degrees and this was at 10 p.m. in January.
