Chesterfield, Mo - The Missouri Dairy Association (MDA) and the Missouri Dairy Growth Council (MDGC) are celebrating June Dairy Month with a tour and proclamation reading at the Scheer Family Dairy Farm in New Haven on Thursday June 14.

New Haven, Mo - The New Haven Fire Department responded at 3:15 p.m. this afternoon for a brush fire in the area of Highway E and Drake School Road, approximately 1.5 miles south of Stonyhill.

Akin: Food stamp program should be “phased out”

ST. CHARLES, Mo. — U.S. Rep. Todd Akin said Tuesday he believes a federal program that aimes to help lower income individuals buy food should be eventually phased out.

Speaking at a primary debate in St. Charles, the Republican U.S. Senate hopeful decried millions in federal spending on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

“The food stamp budget had gone up,” Akin said, “while we’re cutting defense. There’s something wrong with that.”

Madden voted top eight pitchers among Class 1 teams

New Haven, Mo - The Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association (MHSBCA) voted New Haven Pitcher, Austin Madden, to the Class 1 Pitchers 2nd Team All-State, making him one of the top eight pitchers among Class 1 schools.
