New Haven, Mo. – Monday night Kierstin Monzyk racked up four RBIs on four of four hitting.  Madison Doyle finished with three RBIs going two of three from the plate.

Heated public hearing about Ameren's proposed 14% rate hike

Union, Mo. – Thursday night an estimated 200 Franklin County residence turned out to voice their opinion about Ameren UE’s proposed 14% rate hike during a heated public hearing with the Missouri Public Service Commission. (MPSC)  Ameren is justifying the rate hike due to “higher costs for coal and the need to replace aging equipment”.

First report of West Nile Disease death

West Nile Disease claims its first victim in Missouri. The state Department of Health and Senior Services reports a 78-year old man died from the mosquito borne illness earlier this month.

According to the health department, he contracted the disease in late July. The Lebanon Daily Record newspaper identifies the victim as a Lebanon resident. The department of health says three other people in the state currently have West Nile disease.

Fugitive arrested during weekend check points and prepare for increased enforcement through Labor Day

Franklin County, MO - Deputies of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office conducted two sobriety checkpoints this past Sat., Aug. 25.  The locations of the sobriety checkpoints were Highway 185 south of Beaufort at Highway O and Highway AT near Villa Ridge.
