– The Washington Town and Country Pro-Stock Tractor Pull is one of the premiers in the state, attracting pullers from all corners of Missouri and neighboring states.

State fair opens in Sedalia

— Joined by Gov. Jay Nixon, Missouri gathered in Sedalia on Thursday to open the 110th Missouri State Fair.

Nixon said this year, during one of the worst droughts in decades, the fair is an important way to showcase the “perseverance” of the state’s agriculture community.

OBITUARY: Union: June Ella Toelke (June 7, 1929 - August 8, 2012)

June Ella Toelke, 83, of Union passed away Wed., Aug. 8, 2012.

Mrs. Toelke is survived by her husband, Frank Toelke; two sons, Gary Toelke and wife Sandra of Union, and Greg Toelke and wife Dawn of Union.

Two local ladies to compete for title of Miss Missouri State Fair
