Seniors Take the Swimming Intramural Title 3 Years Running

The senior class does the traditional victory jump into the pool.

New Haven, Mo. – Traditions have always been an important aspect of New Haven High School, hence the motto, “A Tradition of Excellence.”  I am not referring to the school’s history of success in sports.

Fidelity releases statement regarding Thursday's phone outage

New Haven, MO - We were able to make contact with Fidelity late this morning and they released the following statement:

The severe storm yesterday knocked out our internal phone system and our email server as well as service for many of our customers.

-Based on radar images the strongest parts of this storm cell have remained south of New Haven in the areas of Gerald and Beaufort.

Even though the sky is beginning to clear there is always the possibility of a storm cell to quickly develop with little warning.  We will keep you up-to-date if we receive additional information.

Severe Thunderstorm warning remains in affect until 4:45 p.m.

Sirens in New Haven have just been sounded indicating Severe Weather in the area and to seek shelter.

Duke Women’s Basketball 2012-13 Schedule Released

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The 2012-13 Duke women’s basketball schedule was officially announced on Thursday as the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) office released the schedules for all 12 member institutions for women’s basketball. The Blue Devils will once again play a very challenging slate as Head Coach Joanne P. McCallie enters her sixth year with the program.

OBITUARY: Washington: Marvin A. Stevens (October 14, 1930 – September 5, 2012

Marvin A. Stevens, 81 years old, of Washington, Mo. passed away on Wed. September 5.

Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife, Betty Stevens of Washington, Mo., one daughter, Carol Cates and husband Glenn of New Haven, Mo., three sons, Marvin and wife Kathleen of Denver Colorado, James Sullivan and wife, Tammy of Pacific, Mo. and David Stevens and wife Martha of Alton, IL.

State Auditor critical of Gov. Nixon's travel spending

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo
. — Republican State Auditor Tom Schweich has released a scathing audit of Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon’s use of official state resources for travel.

In a report released on Wednesday, Schweich said the governor’s office spent more than $602,000 on taxpayer paid travel expenses, on top of more than $565,000 his administration spent to operate state planes.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is leading development of a Habitat Conservation Plan for the Midwest that will conserve endangered species, promote development of clean energy which in turn will reduce atmospheric carbon dioxide.
