--Trunk or Treat has become popular among many communities as an alternative to Trick or Treating.  St. Peter’s UCC began Trunk or Treat several years ago and it has grown from a small event into the place to visit on Halloween.  So what exactly is Trunk or Treat?

The Beaufort Lion's Club is hosting their annual Trunk or Treat this evening until 8:00 p.m.  There are already lots of little ones grazing the grounds for their Halloween treats.

Each year New Haven High School’s FCCLA holds a Halloween contest.  We stopped by earlier this afternoon and was very impressed with the creativity and ideas that student’s came up with.

The New Haven Police Department and New Haven EMS will be handing out candy at the Ambulance Building on Halloween night.  The New Haven Fire Department will also be handing out candy at the Fire House.

Scheer to continue softball career at William Woods University

East Central College's softball players Grace Fritz (left) and Julie Scheer (right) signed letters of intent last week to continue their academic and athletic careers at William Woods University.

Shown standing  is Tracy Gastineau, coach of the softball Owls.  Fritz was catcher for ECC last year and Scheer pitched and played shortstop.  Fritz and Scheer will be a big part of the Falcon team in 2013 as they prepare to defend their NJCAA Region 16 title.

OBITUARY: BERGER: Louis Aaron Scott (March 7, 1929 - October 28, 2012)

Louis Aaron Scott, 83, of Berger, Mo. passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Scott was born in Dardanelle, Arkansas on March 7, 1929, the son of the late Leonard and Bamie (Kirk) Scott.

He was the widower of Clara (Moore) Scott. They were married May 21, 1947 at New Madrid, Missouri.

SCAM ALERT: Medicare and Medicaid customers being targeted

Franklin County, Mo. - Tuesday morning the Franklin County Sheriff’s office released the follow statement regarding information about a potential scam targeting people who receive Medicare or Medicaid.

On occasion the Sheriff’s Office has issued warnings related to phone and mail scams that are being conducted in the area.  There are numerous variations of these scams.
