Heavy rainfall expected due to effects of Hurricane Isaac


St. Louis -
According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, Mo., heavy rainfall is likely this holiday weekend.

The remnants of Hurricane Isaac are forecast to move across the region over Labor Day weekend.  The rain may be heavy at times on Friday night and Saturday as the center of the Tropical system moves northeast across Missouri and Illinois.

Union High School wins $100 grant as part of Crawford Electric’s Youth Tour competition

Meet our student intern - Taylor Goad

Taylor Goad is a senior at New Haven High School and will be working with us as a student intern throughout the school year.

Goad is in her fourth year of playing volleyball, has been an honor roll student, and a member of FBLA, Student Council, FCCLA, and National Honor Society.

Goad was the 2012 New Haven Youth Fair Queen and second runner-up in 2011.  This past summer, Goad was one of four junior girls who attended Missouri Girls Sate.

Franklin County R-II School District - Tax Rate Hearing Notice

A hearing will be held at 6:15 p.m. on August 29, 2012, at 3128 Hwy Y, New Haven, Missouri, at which time citizens may be heard on the property tax rates proposed to be set by the Franklin County R-II School District.

The tax rates are set to produce the revenues which the budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2012, shows to be required from the property tax.

Each tax rate is determined by dividing the amount of revenue needed by the current assessed valuation.  The result is multiplied by 100 so the tax rate will be expressed in cents per $100 valuation.
