OBITUARY: Union: Allen Lueker (January 30, 1940 - November 30, 2012)

Allen Lueker, 72, of Union, passed away Fri., Nov. 30, 2012.

Mr. Lueker is survived by his wife, Betty Lueker, nee Dreinhoefer.

Sullivan man seriously injured in crash north of Beaufort

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is reporting that Travis S. Dunakey, 42, of Sullivan, Mo. was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash this morning around 5:00 a.m., approximately 5 miles north of Beaufort.

Byram wins second straight Air Rifle State Championship

Gerald, Mo. - Brittany Byram of Gerald, Mo., a student at Owensville Middle School, is a member of the New Haven 4-H Club who recently competed at Prairie Grove Shooting Range in the Missouri 4-H State Air Rifle competition.  Byram came in as the defending champion with a target on her back and everyone waiting to knock her off.

- Nelson Tree Services of St. Louis, Mo sent workers to assist in storm ravaged New York after "Super Storm Sandy" took its toll. Nole Winistoerfer of Leslie, Mo. left with the company on Oct. 31, and tells us that at this point, they are unsure of when they will be released to come home.

Beaufort, Mo. – Saturday night, around 10:15 p.m., fire stormed through a modular home, completely destroying it.  Beaufort/Leslie Fire Department responded to the first alarm, located on Dierking Road near the intersection of Dierking and East Casco Road, north of Beaufort, Mo.

Beaufort Lion's Club Trunk or Treat

The Beaufort Lion's Club is hosting their annual Trunk or Treat this evening until 8:00 p.m.  There are already lots of little ones grazing the grounds for their Halloween treats.

Gerald receives $75,000 in federal recreation grant

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.
Gov. Jay Nixon announced that six Missouri communities have been approved by the National Park Service to receive more than $275,000 in federal grants to assist with park and recreation needs.

22-year-old crashes and overturns car

Leslie, Mo. – Monday night at 8:55 p.m. Beaufort/Leslie Fire and Gerald EMS responded to a car crash on Ebenezer Road, one mile south of Highway YY.

When emergency crews arrived, they found one vehicle upside down, off the right side of the roadway in the ditch.

OBITUARY: Beaufort: Ruth Ida Anna Peters

Ruth Peters, 88, of Beaufort, MO. passed away Mon., August 6, 2012.

She is survived by four daughters, Joyce Sliger of Crete, IL, Shirley Gault and husband John of Marshall, Janet Story and husband Larry of Beaufort, and Karen de Aguero of Beaufort; eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Three car pile-up east of Beaufort sends local 20 year old to hospital
