Beaufort, Mo. - In less than 15 days Beaufort and Leslie residents are once again under a boil order after Nexlink busted through a water main for the second time.

Boil Order issued for Beaufort/Leslie Water District for second time due to NexLink

A Boil Order has again been issued for the Beaufort/Leslie Water District due to NexLink cutting a second water main.  This instance is located at Greenstreet Road near Beaufort.

Union, Mo. – Friday evening, prior to the start of the Truck and Tractor Pull at the Franklin County Fair, farm tractors began parading onto the track, lining up side-by-side, while fair board members gathered together at the center of the track.

Beaufort area residents under boil order after water line busted by company laying cable.

Beaufort, Mo – Residents within the Beaufort area are currently under a water boil order.  Officials said they would be testing the water tomorrow however the results will not be known until Tuesday.

The boil order comes after a water main was busted by a company laying cable along Highway 50 between Leslie and Beaufort.

Two out-of-town drivers moderately injured in accident near Beaufort


Yesterday evening, at approximately 5:40 p.m., two people were moderately injured in a two vehicle accident just east of Beaufort.

Leslie man overturns Franklin Co. Highway Dept. dump truck south of Spring Bluff


The Missouri State Highway Patrol has reported that Darwin McManus, 50, of Leslie was involved in a one-vehicle accident yesterday after losing control of the Franklin County Highway Department dump truck he was driving.

Leslie teen killed in crash


According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol Report, a 16 year old female from Leslie, Mo. was killed in a one-vehicle accident Wed., March 21, 2012.

Six fire departments respond for 2nd alarm house fire

Gerald, Mo - The Gerald-Rosebud Fire Department responded at 12:57 p.m. this afternoon to the 5100 block of Highway ZZ for a first alarm house fire.  When crews arrived on scene there was heavy smoke coming from the backside of the house, particularly from the entrance door of the basement.

Beaufort teen severely injured in weather related accident

A Beaufort teen and a Gerald resident were involved in a two-vehicle, weather related accident on Hwy 185, 1.2 miles south of Hwy. 50 in Beaufort at 7:10 p.m. on Mon., Feb. 13, 2012. 

Slick roads attribute to a car wreck and a Union school bus wreck

New Haven, Mo – At 5:30 a.m. roadways were clear, by 6:15 a.m. roadways were covered with a light patch of snow.  Snow amounts continue to increase as the winter storm moves across the area.

The almost instantly snow covered roads has already led to one vehicle accident in the area with school officials caught between a rock and a hard place.

It seems as though approximately an inch of snow fell overnight, partially melted, refroze, and another inch or so fell on top.  Please be extra cautious when driving on roads that have not yet been cleared.

9:15 p.m. - Power has been restored to the areas of Beaufort, Leslie, Clover Bottom, and surrounding areas.

8:47 p.m. - According to a Crawford Electric Official, the substation on Highway AJ in Clover Bottom had a transformer blow that services Clover Bottom, Beaufort, Leslie, and surrounding areas.

23 year-old found dead yesterday morning

Gerald, Mo. -- Yesterday morning at approximately 4:20 a.m. deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department responded in reference to a death investigation in the 9000 block of Droste Road, located 4 miles south of Gerald, Mo. off of highway H.

According to the victim’s father, he and his son had been at a deer camp where several people had been drinking.

New Park Board assignments passed at last night's Gerald City Council Meeting

Without much discussion, the issue of assigning new members to the Gerald Park Board was settled at last night's Gerald City Council Meeting. 

Two of the four elected to the board, Heather Baser, and Melissa Lottmann were nominated at last month's meeting, but were not approved by the aldermen.  Lottmann walked out of last month's meeting stating that she "would not be a part of it" due to the arguing that came with the appointments.
