Sedalia, Mo. – Gov. Jay Nixon made his second appearance at the Missouri State Fair on Sunday for Military Appreciation Day, A “Show Me” Salute to Veterans.

Seven-year-old wins giant pumpkin contest at State Fair

Ahna hugs her 169-pound winning pumpkin in the giant pumpkin contest.

Sedalia, Mo. – The Missouri State Fair has over 30,000 different agriculture exhibits from your traditional livestock shows to a large variety of other agriculture related competitions such as the giant pumpkin contest.

Seven-year-old Ahna Sinclair grew the winning pumpkin that weighed in at 169 pounds.

Leslie woman receives 1st Runner Up and awards at Missouri State Fair Queen Pageant


Trina Stumpe, the 19 year old daughter of Kevin and Barb Stumpe of Leslie represented the Meramec Community Fair at the Miss Missouri State Fair Queen Pageant today.

State fair opens in Sedalia

SEDALIA, Mo.
— Joined by Gov. Jay Nixon, Missouri gathered in Sedalia on Thursday to open the 110th Missouri State Fair.

Nixon said this year, during one of the worst droughts in decades, the fair is an important way to showcase the “perseverance” of the state’s agriculture community.

Exclusive backstage interview with Jake Owen

Hours before Jake Owen was set to perform he was on stage doing sound checks but also signed several autographs and interacted with fans.

Washington, Mo. – Jake Owen was the first to perform on Washington’s newly built Pepsi Main Stage.  Owen shocked fair officials who said, “This is the largest crowd we have ever had for a Thurs. night performance and what a show it was.”

Before taking the stage Jake Owen gave QNHN an exclusive backstage interview.

Jessica Siedhoff and Ellie Scheer win Grand Champion at Washington Fair

Washington, Mo. – The New Haven 4-H Club proved they have the cream of the crop when it comes to raising steers and dairy cattle.  Jessica Siedhoff’s steer and Ellie Scheer’s dairy cow, “Rosita”, both received Grand Champion at the Washington Town and Country Fair this week.

Washington Town and Country Fair to open at noon

The fairgrounds in Washington will open at noon today, Sun., Aug. 5. for the final day of the Washington Town and Country Fair.  The delayed opening is due to last night's storms and clean up efforts.

Fair officials are asking fairgoers to use their shuttle service as parking lots are now muddy.  See below for the shuttle service locations and schedule.

The Jarrod Niemann concert will be held this evening as planned.

Washington, Mo. – Saturday night a strong batch of thunderstorms ripped through the Washington Fair grounds causing fair officials to evacuate and close the fair grounds.

New Haven's A-Kay Meyer crowned 2012 Franklin County Beef Queen

Washington, Mo. – Thursday evening A-Kay Meyer, daughter of Terry and Trina Meyer was crowned the 2012 Franklin County Beef Queen prior to the Washington Town and Country Market Steer Judging.

Catfight breaks out during Gretchen Wilson concert

Washington, Mo. – During Fri. night’s concert a fight broke out between two ladies in the middle of the crowd.  Police officers quickly made their way through the crowd, preventing the incident from escalating any further.

Exclusive footage of the raising of the American Flag

Washington, Mo. – Earlier this afternoon the American Flag was raised high above the fair grounds with a cross on top.

It was a beautiful sight watching fair officials attaching the flag, making sure it never touched the ground.

Washington, Mo. – The 2012 Washington Town and Country Fair’s theme, Making Memories, could not be a more fitting theme after Jake Owen’s mind-blowing performance on the newly built Pepsi Main Stage.
