East Central College Trustees approve tuition increase

Union, Mo - Students at East Central College will see a jump in tuition rates for the upcoming fall semester.

At their March 5 meeting the board of trustees voted unanimously to a 7.6 percent across the board increase in the tuition rate.

Facebook message is not TRUE - No such events have occurred

Apparently there is a post by an unknown individual on Facebook about a blue minivan traveling around the area, stopping at homes and asking to clean their carpets.  The Facebook post goes on to state these individuals are “beating people up”. This is not true according to officials.

New Haven, Mo - Cub Scouts of Troop 453 spent the past month building their derby cars for the much anticipated Pine Wood Derby Race on Sunday.

New Haven Neighborhood Watch to host free seminar

The New Haven Neighborhood Watch will be hosting a community meeting Thurs., Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Old New Haven Elementary School on Maupin St.

The New Haven Police Department will be giving a crime awareness seminar free to the public.

Super Bowl Party at Memorial Baptist Church

Everyone is invited to Memorial Baptist Church’s Super Bowl Party. This year’s party will begin with a youth led kickoff meeting/pep rally from 4:30 p.m. until 5:25 p.m.

The youth group has been divided into two teams and is recruiting people to join their team.  The team with the most members will win a prize.  Be here to join in the pre-game festivities.

Rehearsals begin Monday for Three Performing Groups at ECC

Union, Mo. - East Central College encourages adults and children who are musically inclined to join one of the performing groups for the spring semester. Rehearsals begin Monday, January 30, for three ensembles.

Children in grades 4 through 8 are welcome to participate in the East Central Children’s Chorale which holds rehearsals on Mondays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Children’s Chorale is directed by Malinda Thompson and Sheila Baer.

Community Neighborhood Watch to hold first meeting Thursday night

New Haven's Neighorhood Watch Group will hold their first meeting Thurs. Jan. 12 at 7 p.m.  The meeting will be held at the "Old Elementary School" located on Maupin St.

Cast announced for ECC production of "Seussical"

Union, Mo. - ECC Theatre has announced the cast for the 2012 spring musical, Seussical. Directed by Grace Austin with vocal direction by Paula Nolley, Seussical follows the adventures of Horton the Elephant and a cast of zany Dr. Seuss characters on their wild adventures.
