. – Franklin County R-II School took advantage of this year’s Presidential race to help students understand how the voting process works and that your vote does count.

New Haven, Mo. – Generally the main event each year at R-II’s PTO Chili Supper is the “Grandma’s Pie Auction” and for the most part it still was.

However this year they raffled off an iPad 3, (The iPad) which drew quite the attention and everyone saying, “I already know I am going to win.”

Franklin County R-II second graders perform The Bremen Town Musicians

Thursday morning Mrs.Hesemann’s second grade class at R-II, performed a play titled The Bremen Town Musicians.  Hesemann said, “We do this activity as part of our reading curriculum.  It is a fun project for students during the last few weeks of the school year.”

Franklin County R-II Kindergarten Graduation

New Haven, Mo – This evening Franklin County R-II held their Annual Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony.

This year Jean Oetterer, Kindergarten Teacher, had 14 students that received their diploma from School Board President, Dale Winters.

Franklin County R-II School District Receives “Distinction in Performance” Award

Forty-five school districts in south-central Missouri who earned the “Distinction in Performance” award were recently honored by South Central Regional Professional Development Center.

Upwards basketball end of the season awards banquet

The Upwards basketball season ended last week as team battled it out in their final games of the year.  Sunday afternoon coaches, players, and fans gathered one more time for their end of the season Awards Night.

Spread the Word is a movement to end the negative, derogatory use of the word "retard".
