BREAKING NEWS: Armed gunman arrested after fleeing police - SKS Rifle recovered loaded with 30 rounds

Washington, Mo. - Despite conflicting stories referencing Tuesday’s incident in the area of Pottery Road and Highway 100 Sheriff Gary Toelke has now released additional information, adding to what we initially reported.

Sheriff Toelke said, “The camouflage that the deputy said the suspect was wearing was located along with a SKS Rifle by deputies who began searching the area after placing the suspect into custody.  The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Derrick Howard Jr. from Union, Mo.”

Two killed and one seriously injured in Clackamas Town Center Shooting

Portland, OR - According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s office an adult male entered the Clackamas Town Center’s food court around 4:30 p.m. CST opening fire killing two people and leaving one victim with serious injuries.

The shooter apparently died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect was an adult male.

BREAKING NEWS: Union High School students evacuated after possible threat was discovered

Union, Mo. – Monday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m., students at Union High School were evacuated after school officials discovered graffiti and vandalism that indicated a possible threat towards the students and faculty.

Union School District Superintendent Steve Bryant told Quick News, “The graffiti and vandalism is what tipped us off.  We have a good protocol in place that we follow when these types of things happen.  We always try to err on the side of safety, at the same we look at how credible the possible threat might be.”

New Haven Police Department Cracking Down On Impaired Drivers Dec. 6-13 - Drink and Drive you will lose

New Haven, Mo. - The New Haven Police Department will be participating in the 2012 Holiday DWI Enforcement Campaign to stop people from driving impaired during this Holiday season.

Enforcement efforts will be increased December 10-16 and will focus on reducing deaths and serious injuries caused by impaired drivers.

Deputy’s heroic effort leads to arrest of car thief after two weeks of investigation

Grey Summit, Mo. - Franklin County Deputies and Pacific Police have been working together over the past two weeks investigating the numerous auto thefts that have taken place within the area.  Through a collective effort by both departments they were able tie all robberies to one suspect.

Several attempts had been made to stop and arrest the subject and each time led to a pursuit, at times exceeding 100 MPH.  These pursuits were discontinued due to safety concerns.  There was currently a warrant for the subject’s arrest for felony probation violation, $75,000.00 bond.

BREAKING NEWS: New Haven Police arrest 18-year-old in Fidelity armed robbery

New Haven, Mo. - Quick News has just learned that New Haven Police apprehended the subject in relation to Tuesday (Nov. 20) night's armed robbery at Fidelity’s office in New Haven.

Their persistent investigation during this past week and numerous tips received led to Friday night’s arrest.

Lonedell, Mo. Friday night at approximately 11:17 p.m. Franklin County Deputies responded to the 6000 block of Cherokee Lane in Lonedell for a report of a kidnapping of a 4-year-old child. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the child’s grandmother who lived at the residence.

Villa Ridge 43-year-old commits suicide Thursday morning

Villa Ridge, Mo. – Thursday morning  at approximately 10:43 AM, Franklin County Deputies responded to the 5000 block of St. Louis Rock Road for report of an unresponsive female.

Attempts to resuscitate the victim by deputies and paramedics with Union EMS were unsuccessful.

Man with warrant for arrest visits courthouse - Spotted by County Clerk - Deputy chases him down

Union, Mo – Late Tuesday morning, 22-year-old Austin Thater, from Union, Mo. was at the front window of the Circuit Clerk’s office inside the County Court House.  Ironically Thater had a warrant out for his arrest.

At the same time a Franklin County Deputy was in the Circuit Clerk’s office when one of the clerks recognized Thater and knew about his warrant. 

BREAKING NEWS: Argument leads to 18-year-old shooting a 17-year-old near St. Clair Mo.

St. Clair, Mo. – Earlier this afternoon (Wednesday) around 1:38 p.m., Franklin County Deputies responded to what initially was reported as a peace disturbance.

They responded to the 2000 block of Barton Road located seven miles south of St. Clair off of Highway 47.

BREAKING NEWS: Troopers forced to use lethal force in Tuesday's shooting

St. Clair, Mo. – We just spoke with Sargeant Al Nothum, spokes person for Missouri State Highway Patrol, regarding Tuesday’s shooting involving two State Troopers, that took place on Highway K one fourth of a mile south of Highway 30 at a parking lot of MFA,

Sgt. Nothum said, “Two of our troopers from our Drug and Crime division had a prearranged meeting with the subject due to an ongoing investigation. Troopers had previously had several conversation with the suspect prior to their meeting.”

Hall's Pharmacy bandit arrested

Union, Mo. – Thanks to an anonymous tip, leading investigators to the Pharmacy bandit’s apartment in the 1000 block of East 5th Street located in Washington Mo.  The suspect taken into custody Thursday afternoon for investigation of the robbery at Hall's Pharmacy in Krakow, Mo that took place earlier this week.

Wife stabs husband during altercation in Londell, Mo.

Lonedell, Mo.Glen Keune Jr is recovering this morning at Mercy Medical Center after being stabbed in his upper leg late last night.

According to Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke Keune told deputies that his wife had stabbed him, during what investigators suspect occured in physical altercation between the two.

Krakow, Mo.
– Franklin County deputies are currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Hall’s Pharmacy in Krakow, Mo at approximately 1:45 p.m. this afternoon.

We just spoke with Sheriff Gary Toelke at the scene of the crime.  Toelke gave us a description of the known suspect as being white male between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches with dark colored hair, and muscular built.

BREAKING NEWS: 1 year old boy found - Police have one in custody

A one-year-old has been returned to his family Wednesday night after being abducted from their home earlier in the day.

Just before 9:30 p.m., County police reported the one-year-old boy, identified as Carmon Cross, had been returned to the family, and was being taken to an area hospital for a wellness check.

It's not clear what time the abduction occurred, but authorities say it could have been as early as 11 a.m.; though police did not receive information about the kidnapping until the evening. County police began working the case around 7 p.m..
