--When you take three letters and combine them on the front of a jersey, everyone forgets about their differences and unites as one team with the same goal.

When Justin Wurtz of Hermann, Mo. and Tyler Johnson of Union, Mo. first put on their jersey with the letters “USA” on the front they realized they were no longer playing for their high schools (Hermann Bearcats or Union Wildcats) instead they were representing an entire nation.

It is known throughout Franklin County and across the state that New Haven is famous for the High School's basketball program as well as the area's history of the sport.  Therefore, everyone in New Haven should celebrate today... or maybe today should be declared a holiday in town...

The Bendigo Bank Spirit may recruit a tall Australian basketballer on a short-term contract while it searches for an import to replace Kathleen Scheer.

Spirit coach Bernie Harrower sent Scheer home to the USA after it became clear at the weekend the 23-year-old’s injured left knee wouldn’t stand up to a WNBL season.

--New Haven’s JV team continues their onslaught as they picked up their sixth win on the year, taking 20 minutes for the lady rocks in their first conference match against St. James Tuesday night, 25-7, 25-4.  With Tuesday’s win New Haven has now out scored their opponents 200 to 58 in their last four games.

Saturday, New Haven’s junior high cross-country team gave fans a glimpse into the possible future of New Haven’s Cross Country program.

In the junior high race boys and girls were combined into one race with New Haven’s Abby Grater finishing 10th overall and taking first place among girls.

Important reminders for fall athletes - Practice schedule information


Athletic Director Ray Steinhoff said, "All students planning to participate in all fall sports are reminded that physicals and proof of insurance must be turned in prior to practicing."

Steinhoff said, "Practices will begin on August 6 and you will not be able to begin practicing until physicals and proof of insurance information have been submitted."

Camp Trinity hosts 22nd Annual Joe Bill Wilderness Running Camp

New Haven, Mo. – This past week Camp Trinity hosted the 22nd Joe Bill Dixon’s Wilderness Running Camp.  Earlier this week we wrote an article about the legendary cross-country coach, Joe Bill Dixon.  Dixon told QNHN, “I do these camps because I love to teach."

Jake Murphy's two run blast ended up being the Black-Gold's only two runs in the game, falling to the Toros 3-2 in extra innings.

Hermann, Mo. - The 11th Annual Black Gold Classic Fastpitch Tournament will take place this weekend June 23rd and 24th in Hermann, Mo. at the City Park and at Rhineland's field.  Hermann’s fastpitch team, Black Gold, will be hosting the 8-team tournament.

New Haven, Mo – Coach Ray Steinhoff wrapped up his 26th annual boys basketball camp on Friday; more than 30 eighth through 12th grade students battled two and a half hours each day, competing in different team games (3 on 3 and 4 on 4) as well as individual events.
