Former SLU Basketball Coach Rick Majerus dies at age 64

Columbia, Mo. - “By the time 2 p.m. rolled around Wednesday, it was official -  Missouri men’s basketball coach Frank Haith had a three-man recruiting class ranked in the top 20 in the nation according to several scouting services.

Blue Devils Picked No. 1 in Preseason ACC Poll

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The ACC released the 2012-13 preseason women’s basketball poll on Tuesday at the annual media day in Greensboro, N.C., with the Blue Devils tabbed No. 1 in a vote by the Blue Ribbon Panel, which consists of national and local media, as well as school representatives.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The 2012-13 Duke women’s basketball schedule was officially announced on Thursday as the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) office released the schedules for all 12 member institutions for women’s basketball. The Blue Devils will once again play a very challenging slate as Head Coach Joanne P. McCallie enters her sixth year with the program.

Blue Devils take a blow - Williams suffers stress fracture heading into NCAA Tournament

DURHAM, N.C. -  After posting one of the best rookie campaigns in Duke and Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) history, Duke University freshman Elizabeth Williams will have to deal with a stress fracture in her right lower leg as the sixth-ranked and second-seeded Blue Devils enter the NCAA Tournament this weekend.

Williams, who was selected the 2012 ESPN.com National Rookie of the Year, is expected to play during the tournament and will take time off following the season to recover from her injury.

Duke Receives No. 2 Seed In Fresno Region; Will Take On Samford In First Round

DURHAM, N.C. –  The sixth-ranked Duke women’s basketball team received its 18th straight NCAA Tournament selection on Monday.

The Blue Devils (24-5) were seeded No. 2 in the Fresno Region and will play 15th-seeded Samford (20-12) in the first round on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tenn.  The game will be televised live on ESPN2 and will tip at approximately 7:45 p.m. (EST).

Chapel Hill, N.C.Kathleen Scheer made her second straight start for the Blue Devils, scoring two points, swatting away one block and a steal, as they knocked off North Carolina 69-63 to clinch the ACC regular season title, 11th time in school history and the first time since 2006-07.

DURHAM, N.C. -  Duke University women’s basketball head coach JoanneP. McCallie announced this morning that sophomore Richa Jackson will miss the remainder of the 2011-12 campaign, after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament of her left knee on Wednesday night against Virginia Tech.
