New Haven gears up for districts with win over Montgomery County

--The Lady Shamrocks upended Montgomery County 10-3 to end a 13 game losing streak on Thursday.

New Haven scored three runs in the third and fourth innings and added three more in the fifth giving them a 9-3 lead.

New Haven, Mo. – Tuesday night Kierstin Monzyk and Katie McKernan played their last home game.  It is always a bitter sweet moment knowing you will never again dawn the green and white before stepping onto Lions Field, which has been their home for the past four years.

New Haven, Mo. – Thursday evening New Haven lost a heartbreaker after Owensville rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh to edge past the Lady Rocks 4-2.

New Haven, Mo. – Thursday night was Bank of Franklin County’s Annual Softball Tailgate and flood the field as part of the high school’s spirit contest.

The added hype to New Haven’s third conference game against the Pacific Indians had moments of a shamrock comeback, but eight runs in the final two innings led the Indians to a 14-2 win.

New Haven, Mo. – Monday night Kierstin Monzyk racked up four RBIs on four of four hitting.  Madison Doyle finished with three RBIs going two of three from the plate.

New Haven, Mo. – In Saturday’s third place game Belle’s hard throwing right-hander pitched a complete game shutout beating New Haven 12-0.  Macie held New Haven to two hits while striking out 14 batters.

New Haven, Mo. – The lady rocks came into the bottom of the third trailing 5-3.  After Valley Park’s starting pitcher had held the lady rocks to three runs on two hits, she was taken out after throwing just one and a third innings, which turned out to be costly.

Softball team begins season Wed. at Valley Park

New Haven, Mo. – The lady rocks will begin their season on Wednesday at Valley Park with a much younger team than last year after losing eight seniors.

New Haven will return their starting pitcher, Stephanie Scheer, and centerfielder Kierstin Monzyk, who led the team in batting (.500) and runs scored (29). Blair Bowers will move to catcher after starting at second base last year.

Stephanie Scheer and Abby Menke both played on this year’s varsity softball team, with Scheer pitching and Menke catching, they made quite the dynamic duo.

Lady Rock's end regular season -- Seniors play their last home game

Last night’s softball game was bittersweet for the Lady Rock’s seniors. It was the last time they would ever play softball on their home field as a Shamrock.

New Haven won, playing only four innings, 17-5 and scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Tonight's Lady Rocks Softball and Volleyball scores

The Lady Rocks were on the road toinght at Pacific.  Pacific started the night with a 4-9 record and on a five game losing streak.  The Rocks were 4-10 and winning two of their last three.

The Rocks came up short lossing a close battle 7-4.  We hope to speak with Coach Tim Scheer later tonight and have a game summary for tomorrow.
