Saturday was a great day for the New Haven Volleyball program with the JV winning the Pacific Tournament for the second straight year and the Varsity crowned Champions three years running in their own Round Robin Tournament.

– The Lady Shamrocks and Lady Knights will clash in Monday night’s Highway 100 Showdown.  Last year New Haven stunned the volleyball world by upsetting Borgia in two sets and ending a 27-year winning streak, generating more hype over Monday’s game at Borgia.  Click here to watch last year's stunner.

Lady Rocks win own tournament three straight years

New Haven, Mo. – The Lady Shamrocks knocked off Winfield in two sets, 25-18, 25-20 to win their three straight New Haven Round Robin Championship.

JV win Pacific Tournament for second straight year

Pacific, Mo. – New Haven’s JV volleyball dominates at the Pacific Tournament remaining undefeated winning 24 out of 24 sets and has not lost one set all year.

Saturday afternoon the lady rocks won the Pacific JV Volleyball Tournament for the second straight year.

Quick News Sports: Varsity and JV play in championship matches

Just in from Kent Vedder reporting live from Pacific.  New Haven stomped Pacific in the first set 25-6.

JV volleyball team off to a 5-0 start

New Haven's teamwork and unselfish play has led them off to a 5-0 and start.

New Haven, Mo. – The JV volleyball team has been pounding the opposition leading them off to a 5-0 start, taking each match in two sets.  In their last three games (Belle, Montgomery County, & Chamois) they have out scored opponents 150 to 46.

Shamrocks fall to Poplar Bluff in 2 sets

Cape Girardeau, Mo. -After an intense victory over St. Vincent in three sets New Haven fell to Poplar Bluff in the semifinal match in two sets, ending their run at playing for the Gold Consolation Championship.

New Haven defeated St. Vincent in three sets to stay alive and advance to the semifinals of the Gold Consolation Championship Match.

New Haven will next play between 6:45 and 7:00.  Currently matches are running about an hour behind.

Tune in live as New Haven looks to advance.  The teams that are able to grind it out will be the ones who walk away with hardware.  Most teams will have played a total of 6 to 9 sets going into the quarterfinal matches in each of the three tournaments.

Shamrock luck puts them in gold bracket

Cape Girardeau, Mo. – New Haven had the luck of the Irish on their side this morning after a dismal performance against Clearwater.  The rocks split sets and opening the door for New Madrid to control the Shamrocks dynasty of what bracket they would play in.

--While New Haven’s undefeated JV team has the weekend off; the 9th grade team began their first game in the Linn Tournament, winning the first set 25-14 before the lights went out.  Severe Thunderstorms rocked the Linn Dome Arena and knocking out power, forcing Friday night’s games to be postponed to a date to be determined

New Haven, Mo. – Tuesday night New Haven rebounded from Monday’s lost at Cuba by knocking off Belle (25-18, 25-11) picking up their second win, improving to 2-1.

Hoener returns to the hardwood - Analysis of this year's team

New Haven, Mo. – Friday night Coach Jaime Hoener will return to the hardwood for the first time since 2008.  It will also be the first time since 2001 when New Haven’s Volleyball program had three coaches.  Coach Sharon Speckhals (2011 Head Coach) is coaching the freshmen and Coach Dennis Carey remains as the Junior Varsity Coach.

New Haven, Mo. - Four years ago Jaime Hoener was pregnant with her second child and decided to give up her position as New Haven’s head volleyball coach to begin a new chapter in her life, being a mom.

Hoener said, “After telling Mr. Stroble [Principal Tim Stroble] my decision I walked back to my classroom and thought to myself, “what have I done”.

McDonald and Pecaut receive All-State Honors

Elise McDonald was voted to the Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association (MHSVCA) Class 1 -- 1st Team All-State.  This is McDonald’s second year in a row to receive this honor.

Four Lady Shamrocks named to All-Region team

The Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association announced the Central/South Central All-Region team.  Senior Elise McDonald and junior Kelsey Pecaut were voted 2nd Team and senior Blake Willimann and sophomore Rachel Steinhoff both named Honorable Mention.
