Just minutes ago, Kasey Wood was crowned the 62nd Washington Town and Country Fair Queen.

Wood is the daughter of Kelly and Frank Wood, and was sponsored by Brinker Promotions.

With 25 girls participating annually, the Washington Town and Country Fair Queen Contest is the second largest in the State of Missouri, following only the 60+ contestants that compete annually at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia.

Representing Wood's court is 1st Runner Up Alex Hoberock, daughter of Greg and Barb Hoberock, sponsored by HTH Companies, Inc.;

2nd Runner Up Erin Bridgeman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bridgeman, Jr, sponsored by Lighthouse Dental; and

Miss Congeniality Erin Howard, daughter of Dan and Beth Howard, sponsored by Halcyon Spa.

The Top Ticket Seller was Megan Reidy, daughter of Edward and Joette Reidy, sponsored by Bank of Washington.

QNHN spoke with Carla Strnad, Fair Queen Contest Volunteer and former Committee Member, who informed us that contestants are “judged for articulation, personality, wit, poise, and confidence which brings out the best in each of our beautiful contestants. The resumes are always very impressive with the past credits and future visions of these young ladies.”

The Fair Queen and Court can be seen throughout the five day fair at various events on the fairgrounds.

Strnad quantified the pageant by stating, “Each successful year is one for the record books and I'm sure this tradition will be here for future decades to come!”
