New Haven, Mo – Tuesday afternoon Brad Zobrist with Pepsi and Brad and Bryan Quick with New Haven Save-A-Lot officially announced that Chris Fries of New Haven, Mo had won Pepsi’s Katy Perry give-a-way out of 30 participating stores serviced by Pepsi Bottling Company.

New Haven Pepsi Bottling Company in coordination with Pepsi Co. gave away an all expense paid trip to Los Angeles, Ca that included free airfare, two nights in a five star hotel, 200 dollars of spending cash, tickets to Katy Perry’s live performance on Hollywood Boulevard and the official premiere event of her new film, “Katy Perry: Part of Me," that opens everywhere in theaters July 5.

Zobrist said, “Pepsi Co offeres different give-a-ways for us to promote and it was nice to see a local resident from one of our local businesses win one of the hottest tickets of the year.”

Chris and his son Dylan Fries flew to Los Angeles, Ca. Mon., June 25th for Katy Perry’s premier event that kicked off the Pepsi and Billboard “Summer Beats” live series.

Chris and Dylan first watched Katy Perry’s live performance on Hollywood Boulevard followed by the official U.S. premiere event of her new Paramount Pictures film, "Katy Perry”

Chris and Dylan said they were both blown away about how much money “is driving up and down the streets.”  Chris said, “We saw a 2 million dollar car…the car had to be shipped to India to have a 35 thousand dollar oil change done.”

Dylan said, “It was a different experience…I do not listen to her type of music…the experience was different than I thought it would be.  In St. Louis you walk around and there is trash everywhere…Hollywood was so clean you couldn’t find trash.  The neatest thing was before the concert they had a red carpet entrance for all the different stars.  I had never seen something like that…it was pretty cool.”

Chris said, “Getting the opportunity to visit a new place, somewhere I had never been and for Dylan getting the chance to fly for the first time…the shops in Hollywood all had signs that said “By appointment only”, you could not just walk in.  Completely different life styles…hard to even imagine.”

Chris said, “I can never thank Brad and New Haven Pepsi Cola Bottling Company and New Haven Save-A-Lot (for participating in the contest) for giving my son and I… a once in a lifetime experience.  The opportunity to visit Hollywood would’ve been just fine, but to be 20 feet from the stage and one of the very first people in the world to see her [Katy Perry] movie before anyone else-will be a trip we’ll never forget.”

This event was part of Pepsi and Billboard’s “Summer Beats Concert Series”. The series includes performances throughout the country by today's hottest musical artists. The Series will feature three concerts — to be held in Los Angeles, CA; Nashville, TN; and New York City, NY — that will be streamed live on the internet via Pepsi's Twitter account.
