A story you won’t read is about those who did not qualify for state at Saturday’s district meet.  Senior Raul Moreno may not be the fastest but is by far the toughest.

Moreno injured his knee earlier in the season.  Most people would have given up, but not Moreno.  He ran in every meet, never complained about his knee and crossed the finish line, at times barely able to walk.

All of Moreno’s hard work and fearless attitude paid off in his final cross-country race.

It did not matter what place he finished instead it’s the fact he finished the 5,000 meters faster than he ever has.

Every senior hopes to end their career with their best performance but this rarely happens.  Moreno can say he did something very few high school athletes ever accomplish.  Moreno had his best performance to finish up his seniro career, placing him among an elite group of athletes.
