Amtrak back to full strength Wednesday

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - MISSOURI NEWS HORIZON - Amtrak train will once again run two trains across the state on Wednesday.  The railroad announcing it will reinstate full service between Kansas City and St. Louis.

The cross-state train service has been down to one trip a day since July 2, when service was reduced to help Union Pacific with its freight traffic diverted on to the lines between Kansas City and St. Louis due to flooding in other locations. Amtrack had been running a bus for passengers to and from St. Louis, Kirkwood, Jefferson City, Sedalia, Warrensburg and Kansas City. Beginning Wednesday, Train 311, the westbound morning train from St. Louis and Train 316, the afternoon eastbound train from Kansas City will return to service.
