Approximately 5:05 p.m.:  New Haven/Berger and mutual aid fire departments were dispatched to the 3900 block on Lakeshore Drive in Whispering Valley for a reported house fire.  Initial reports indicated heavy smoke coming from the roof.

A reporter is on the way to the scene.

5:54 p.m.:  The house fire has been down graded to a dryer that is on fire.  Fire crews are on the scene and currently working to extinguish the dryer fire.

New Haven-Berger Fire Chief Wayne Carl told QNHN that he was very pleased with the quick and overwhelming force brought to the fire from multiple departments.

Carl said upon arriving at the scene, firefighters dragged the burning dryer from the house and extinguished it outside.  Then, firefighters used large fans to pull most of the smoke out of the structure.
