BREAKING NEWS: UPDATE 2: Crawford Electric confirms cause of power outage

9:15 p.m. - Power has been restored to the areas of Beaufort, Leslie, Clover Bottom, and surrounding areas.

8:47 p.m. - According to a Crawford Electric Official, the substation on Highway AJ in Clover Bottom had a transformer blow that services Clover Bottom, Beaufort, Leslie, and surrounding areas.

According to Crawford Electric there are currently 1,368 residences without power and expect power to be restored around 10 p.m.

7:25 p.m. - Bade is confirming that the town of Leslie and Clover Bottom are also without power.  We are still attempting to contact Crawford Electric.

We spoke with an Ameren UE official and have determined that customers serviced by Crawford are without power.

7:00 p.m. - QNHN Reporter Kaylin Bade is reporting that at approximately 6 p.m. this evening the town of Beaufort lost power.  The cause is currently unknown at this time.

The outage appears to be fairly widespread as Reporter Bade has been able to determine that the area of the outage is between Highway YY and Highway185 to Highway 50 and extending southward towards Highway EE.

We have attempted to contact Crawford Electric.  Ameren UE has also been contacted and we are awaiting their phone call.  We will continue to follow this story as it developes.

We have also contacted Franklin County 911 Dispatch and they were unable to provide any information at this time.
