Union Mo. -- Last night at approximately 6:00 p.m., a Franklin County Deputy was traveling north on Hwy A, leaving the city limits of Union when he met a speeding vehicle traveling south.  The deputy clocked the passing vehicle at 84 miles per hour; before he was able to turn his patrol car around the vehicle was out of sight.

Franklin County’s dispatch received a 911 call for a report of a motor vehicle accident rollover, east of highway V and Clearview Road approximately four miles south of Union.  The reporting party told dispatchers that the driver was fleeing the scene of the accident.

When deputies arrived on the scene they recognized the vehicle to be the same one that had been spotted traveling 84 miles per hour.  They also could hear the driver several yards away in a wooded area.

Deputies immediately began searching the area and quickly located the driver, who stated that she was not going to jail and began walking away from deputies.  She was then taken into custody without incident.
The driver did sustain injuries from the accident and was transported by Union Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Washington, Mo.

The driver will be issued several traffic violations and faces charges of driving while intoxicated.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol worked the accident and has identified the driver as a white female, age 30 from Troy, Mo.
