Police Chief John Sheible delivered his monthly report during the city meeting Monday night.

The July police report included 57 traffic stops, 45 assigned cases, and 463 calls for service.  Sheible said, "Robert Joyce resigned from the force on July 28, after being employed with the department for only 21 days.  Rob Kuhlman will start on the force immediately working weekends and wil become full time on August 12."

Alderman Tori Panhorst questioned Sheible about K-4, a new drug that is a synthetic form of marijuana.  Scheible said, "So far in Franklin County there has been one death and two overdoses related to this drug.  The drug is not allowed to be sold in Franklin County; however it is available at convenience stores in Jefferson County.  There is a State Statute that will take effect in September prohibiting the sale of the K-4 in Missouri."
