Kim Conner was the recipient of this year's Ty Quick Athletic Memorial Scholarship.

The Ty Quick Athletic Memorial Scholarship was established in the memory of Ty Quick after he was tragically killed in a car accident on August 6, 2005.

Ty had a deep love for New Haven High School and a proud Shamrock.  There is nothing more Ty would have wanted than to give back to his high school that had given him so much.

Ty’s best friend from college told me how much Ty talked about New Haven High School, in particular Mr. Strobel, Coach Steinhoff, Coach Scheer, and the life lessons he learned from playing sports.

The requirements to apply for The Ty Quick Athletic Memorial Scholarship are:

  • The student has participated in on sport for two full seasons.
Has a desire to continue his or her education in college.

The applicant must then write an essay.  This year’s essay question was, “Up until now, what will you remember most about your high school career and why.”
