JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- State Rep. Scott Dieckhaus, R-Washington, says he will not run for another term in the Missouri House.

Dieckhaus, chairman of the House’s committee on Elementary and Secondary Education, says he will instead take over as director of the Missouri House Republican Campaign Committee. The committee raises money and provides support for Republican candidates running for election to the Missouri House of Representatives.

Dieckhaus is currently serving his second term in the House. As chairman of the Elementary and Secondary Education Committee, Dieckhaus has been a key supporter of school choice legislation in the House. He also backs legislation that would do away with teacher tenure, and reward teachers for student academic performance.

Dieckhaus will serve out his current term before taking over the HRCC post full time.
