ECC Employees Honored by Community College Association

Three East Central College employees, Vince Niehaus, Karen Wieda, and Tracie Welsh, were recently honored by the Missouri Community College Association for their service to ECC and to the mission of community colleges throughout the state.

Niehaus, chair of ECC’s division of fine and performing arts, received the Senior Faculty Service Award.  He has taught theatre and communications classes at ECC since 1984.

Wieda received the Administrative Professional Leadership Award.  She began her career at ECC when the first classes began in 1969 and has served as registrar for decades.

Welsh was presented the MCCA Classified Staff Achievement Award.  She has worked at the college for six years and currently serves as the executive administrative assistant to the vice president for instruction.
