EDITORIAL: "Hey guy" two words I will never forget

Last night at 9:45 p.m. I received news that a great friend of mine had passed away, Murry Wright.

“Hey guy”, were the first words he would say anytime we saw each other.  I can vividly still hear him saying those two words.

We would chat for a few minutes, I always asked “You still kicking?” and was given the same response, “barely”.  And of course he always asked me if I had a woman in my life yet.  My response was pretty much the same every time.

No matter what kind of day I was having, the second I saw Murry, my day would become nearly perfect.  I cannot recall a time he did not have a big smile on his face.

Murry was not just a friend but also one of thousands of American heros who fought in WWII.  He proudly served in the Army and received the Purple Heart after being wounded in battle.

There is no question, Murry fought to the very end.  On Sunday, Murry fought his last fight.  Although he will be missed, Murry is with his wife once again.

Murry, I want you to know how much of a privilege and blessing it was to have known you and I cherish every conversation we have ever had.
