Long lines did not affect voter turnout

New Haven, Mo. – Campaign speeches delivered, votes have been cast, and now New Haven Elementary Student Council Candidates await the results.

This morning students headed to the polls for this year’s student council election.  Grades 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th each vote for two candidates for whom they would like to represent their class in student council.

Votes have been tallied and shortly Principal Kasi Meyer will be making the announcement of who has been elected.

Initially we said we would have results later this afternoon.  We are going to wait until later this evening so parents can hear about it from their children first.

Candidate, Lucy Hoener, drops in her vote in hopes of being elected as her 3rd grade class representative.
