New Haven, Mo. -  Wednesday afternoon The New Haven Police Department was notified of a possible attempted abduction at the New Haven Elementary School.

Once officers arrived they began interviewing the child.  According to Assistant Chief Dan Terry it quickly became apparent that the story given by the child was not entirely true.

The reporting child was brought to the police station by a parent and admitted the entire story was made up for attention.
