Members of the New Haven High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter recently attended the 2012 Missouri FBLA Leadership Conference held on April 22, 23, and 24 in Columbia, Missouri.

FBLA is a career and technical student organization for all high school students participating in business programs.  Over 2,750 members and advisers representing 426 chapters throughout the state met to elect state officers, transact business of the state chapter, participate in leadership and career workshops, and compete in the state leadership awards program.

Delegates representing the New Haven FBLA in the state competitive leadership awards program were:  Rachel Horstmann, Kelsey Pecaut, Clara Albers, and Graden Lovelace—Parliamentary Procedures; Seth Schenck—Introduction to Communications; Taurie Schroeder—Local Chapter Annual Report;  Meghan Brown, Megan Poe, and Olivia Fleer—Community Service Report; and Ben Luecke—Business Procedures.  Zach Schwab also competed in Technology Concepts but was unable to attend the conference.  Mrs. Debbie River, FBLA adviser, accompanied the students to the conference.

Luecke qualified for national competition in his event and will attend the National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, TX in June.  The New Haven Chapter was also given the award for having the largest chapter membership in Class 1 for the state of Missouri.
