Fourth Annual Celebration of Christmas at East Central College

Union Mo. - To kick off the holiday season, the East Central College Music and Theatre Departments will present “An Old Fashioned Christmas,” the fourth annual celebration of the holidays. Christmas carols and stories and will be featured, along with a sing-a-long and refreshments.

The event is being made possible with the financial support of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Hebbeler and Mr. and Mrs. John R. Thompson.

Performances will be held Friday, December 9, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 11, at 3 p.m. in the John Edson Anglin Performing Arts Center on the ECC campus in Union.

Several groups will be featured including the ECC Percussion Ensemble, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, College Choir, Jazz Band and Concert Band. Jazz combos will play in the lobby prior to both performances and the East Central Children’s Chorale will be featured at the Sunday performance. Santa and his elf will arrive one hour prior to the start of each show to visit with the children in attendance.

There will be a children’s coloring center and a chance to write letters to Santa. Cookies, candy canes and beverages will also be available before each show and at intermission.

Tickets may be reserved in advance by contacting the Box Office at (636) 584-6693. Patrons of the Arts and Season Pass Holders are admitted at no charge. ECC students may also attend for free, with a current student ID. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 years or younger. If available, tickets may be purchased at the door one hour before the start time of the event. Theater policy also includes a release of all unclaimed tickets 10 minutes before the opening of any sold out event.

In the ECC Art Gallery prior to and following each performance, the ECC Art Club will host “Gifts of Art” – an opportunity for the public to purchase objects of fine art and handmade gifts created by East Central students and faculty.
