Hall's Pharmacy bandit arrested

Union, Mo. – Thanks to an anonymous tip, leading investigators to the Pharmacy bandit’s apartment in the 1000 block of East 5th Street located in Washington Mo.  The suspect taken into custody Thursday afternoon for investigation of the robbery at Hall's Pharmacy in Krakow, Mo that took place earlier this week.

The suspect has been identified as 24 year-old Matthew J. Florence of Washington, Mo.  Charged have been issued for Pharmacy Robbery 1st degree, theft, and stealing any controlled substance.  Robberies involving a pharmacy are statute specific to pharmacy crimes.

Florence later confessed to the robbery and approximately half of the narcotics stolen have been recovered.  Following the robbery Florence told investigators that he went to a residence on Country Club Lane, which is near the Hall’s Pharmacy where the robbery had occurred. Florence stated he did not have a weapon with him.

Florence is currently incarcerated in the Franklin County Jail.  Bond has been set at $150,000.00 cash only.
