What a beautiful night for fireworks on the riverfront.  Thousands gathered of all ages to celebrate the 4th of July.  One 5-year-old boy told QNHN after the fireworks, “That was so awesome,” while he grinned from ear to ear.

The show lasted about 20 min long, ending with a standing ovation.  It was obvious that everyone left very pleased with tonight’s display, with people clapping and cheering at the conclusion.

Chamber board member, Thomas Held said, “Every year the Hermann Chamber sponsors the fireworks and the cost is about $8,000 to hire the folks to put on the display.”  The chamber has a food stand at the event that helps raise money to pay for the fireworks.  Held’s volunteer position for the chamber each year has been to collect donations from spectators to cover some of the cost.  Held said, “We also receive donations from the community as well.”

If you were not able to attend and would like to make a donation, you may do so by contacting the Hermann Chamber of Commerce at 573-486-2313 or toll free 1-800-932-8687
