--Hostess Brands will continue court proceedings Wednesday to shut the company down after last ditch negotiations with its bakers’ union broke down Tuesday.

On Monday, the judge handling the Hostess bankruptcy liquidation ordered the company and the union in mediation, but late Tuesday, Hostess announced the session was unproductive.

The union made no statement. The Hostess shutdown will cost Missouri more than 400 jobs between plants in St. Louis and Boonville.
