Deer Heart   
Recipe from Kaylin's Kitchen
Servings: 2-3

Ingredients:
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 deer heart
1 yellow onion, sliced into rings
Salt, pepper, and garlic salt to taste

Directions:
Rinse heart in water until runs clear.  Heat oil in large skillet.  Remove large arteries and fat from heart, slice into thin strips.  Add to skillet in one layer with onions.  Sprinkle seasonings lightly.  Turn pieces once to brown on both sides. 


Italian Deer Sandwiches

Servings: 10

Ingredients:
2 cups water
1 green bell pepper, cut into rings
1 package dried onion soup mix
1 Tbsp. dried basil
1 Tbsp. dried parsley
1 beef bouillon cube
½ tsp. garlic powder
¼ tsp. black pepper
1 boneless venison roast, cut into 1” cubes (3+ lbs.)
10 sandwich rolls

Directions:
Combine water, bell pepper, and spices in slow cooker.  Add roast cubes and cook on low 8 hours.  Spoon onto rolls.


Roasted Deer Steaks

Ingredients:
1 can cream of mushroom soup
½ soup can milk
¼ cup red wine
½ tsp. black pepper
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. thyme
½ tsp. garlic salt
1 Tbsp. orange marmalade
Deer steaks
 

Directions:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.  Whisk together all ingredients in roasting pan except for deer.  Add deer in single layer and coat with mixture.  Bake covered for 1 ½ hours.  Reduce heat to 250 degrees and bake for an additional 1 ½ hours until tender.

Bacon Fried Potatoes
Recipe from Kaylin's Kitchen

Ingredients:
5 slices thick cut, smoked bacon
6 baking potatoes
Salt and pepper

Directions:
Fry bacon in large cast-iron skillet.  Meanwhile, wash potatoes, pierce, and bake in microwave until done.  Remove bacon from skillet when cooked, slice.  Cool potatoes and cut into one inch cubes.  Fry in hot bacon grease, add salt and pepper as desired; once crispy, add bacon slices and serve.
