There was very little to talk about after the Lady Rocks defeated the Valley Park Hawks tonight at Lions field 18-1.

Stephanie Scheer recorded her first victory at the varsity level, giving up one run on two hits.  Scheer also recorded two strike outs and only walking two.  The Lady Rocks played better defense tonight only committing one error.

The Hawks had the Rocks on their toes early on. After Scheer gave up a walk and then a base hit, the Hawks had runners in scoring position with only one out.  Scheer hit the next batter, loading the bases.  Rebekah Strobel made a nice play on a hard hit line drive down the third base line making it two outs and a fly ball to center field caught by Kierstin Monzyk ended the inning and the Hawks leaving four runners on base.

The Hawks would finish the game giving up 20 walks and committing three errors.

The game ended in the bottom of the third with two on and two outs when Kayla Oetterer hit a hard line drive to right center field knocking in two runs and scoring after a throwing error was made to third base.

The Lady Rocks will have the next few days off before Saturdays Softball Classic which will be at New Haven.  The Lady Rocks will play at 9 a.m. against Hancock at Lions field.
