Taylor Goad smokes one of her three kills in the first set.

New Haven, Mo. – Friday night the lady shamrocks easily won their season opener, knocking of Father Tolton Catholic in two sets (25-13, 25-11).

Coach Jaime Hoener said, “I thought Taylor Goad played really well on the right side…that’s not a position she is use to but she is getting more and more use to it.  I thought she played well.

Hannah Kassebaum did a nice job of distributing the ball, particularly in the first set and served really well.”

Six players combined for New Haven’s 17 kills, keeping Tolton Catholic guessing on defense.  New Haven did struggle on serves received committing numerous errors.

Coach Hoener said, “Thursday night we were terrible on serve receive while scrimmaging the JV and it showed some this evening, which we'll address in practice on Sunday."

New Haven will travel to Cuba on Monday.  Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. (JV-V)
