A late model white Jeep, northbound on Rte. J in Gasconade County, was involved in a one-vehicle roll-over accident in the noon hour.

Judging from skid marks on the highway, the vehicle crossed the center line, over-corrected sharply, and went off the right side of the road.

The female driver further lost control of the vehicle when it dragged across some large rocks embedded in the ground.

The vehicle apparently flipped and came nose-first into the ground near the tree line.  Air bags deployed.  When the accident was first reported, it was said that the driver and a dog needed to be extricated from the vehicle.

The woman was verbally abusive with the first firefighters on the scene.

The driver was taken to a waiting Hermann EMS ambulance on a stretcher; she was transported to a local hospital.  The small dog was not injured and was being held by residents near the scene of the accident.

The scene was worked by Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant David Spurgeon, several deputies with the Gasconade County Sheriff's Department and Major Paul Ownsby, and by the Hermann Area Volunteer Fire Department, including Fire Chief Dave Schulte.
